New Zealand- Great Barrier Island- Fitzroy Harbor

After doing some local hikes we positioned ourselves in the best hurricane hole we could find to wait out the oncoming Cyclone Hola. The cyclone was predicted to lose strength before arrival but did have predictions of 70 knot gusts.   To ensure our safety we did all we could possible do including: setting a second anchor (not fun to undo),  storing the dinghy, and removing our genoa and staysail.  Since you are reading this post you know we fortunately weathered the storm just fine  : )
Endemic Brown Teal
Got snacks?  This cute little brown teal was very friendly and very used to being fed.
