We met PUP-PUP a baby harbor seal while we were slowly sailing away from a glacier. PUP-PUP kept popping up to check us out, we suspected he wanted to jump up on our dive platform. This baby was so cute, I wanted him to join us. Harbor Seals nurse for only 1 month and then they are on their own. He kept swimming after us, my heart was aching for this little guy, I was hoping he would stay safe and find an iceberg to rest on.
Pup- pup the baby Harbor Seal. Harbor seals' eyes are adapted for seeing shades of black and white. Color vision is believed to be poor to non-existent. |
