Thailand- Phuket

We are now off the Andaman Coast enjoying one of Thailand's largest islands and major tourist destinations. You know you are in Phuket when you see the Big Buddha at the top of the mountain... It's HUUGE! 97% of the population here is Buddhist, so there are lots of beautiful historic Wats (Buddhist Temple) here. United States - Maine - Jewell Island

It is fitting that one of our last Maine anchorages was named Jewell Island. The jewel of Jewel Island was its manicured trails, lush forest and the evenings were filled with sounds of chirping frogs . Life is very stimulating when you let nature entertain you, and absorb the beauty of this universe. Indonesia- Maratua- Drying out Illimite

Illimite has a lifting centerboard which when raised allows the sailboat to sit flat on its bottom. Drying out is something most catamarans can do, but not many monohulls can. This is the first time Illimite was dried out and she got a good hull scrubbing. We will be doing our next dry out in December for a boat repair, assuming the parts make it through Indonesian Customs.
