Thailand- Ko Ha Yai- Diving

If you know anything about healthy coral reefs is it needs to have diversity of species.   When there is an imbalance of species it will allow another to rise.   One of the most obvious characteristic of this reef was the overabundance of moray and yellow spotted eels (BTW they are actually fish).   On our dive I was amazed we saw over a dozen eels seemlingly peering out from every rock and crevice.  The eels natural predator is the shark, we have yet to see a shark in SE Asia  : (

No he is not trying to eat this wrasse.  This is a symbiotic relationship, this Giant Moray is getting his teeth cleaned and the wrasse is getting a free dinner.

Moray Eels are ambush predators, they hid and attack without warning (like our American Alligators).   He is out of his whole getting some attention from a cleaner wrasse.

Blue Candy Nudibranch

Not sure what these are but growing on dead coral, they seemed to be filled with air as they swayed in the current.

In love Nudibranches-  Happy Valentines Day
