Another remote island
in Canada which you can access by boat or during its low tide 20 feet/6meters you can drive over a bar to access this park.
We anchor out and go to shore at high tide, when no other visitor is
there.
This island has well maintained carriage trails. This
Acadian forest has native trees: yellow birch, red spruce, American beech and
sugar maple. There is a dilapidated homestead of the minister and a well
maintained estate of a past railroad baron.
We saw several white tail deer,
bald eagles, osprey and song birds on our walk. What was exceptional about this
island trail was that they had very well positioned Adirondack chairs
overlooking sweeping views of Passamaquoddy Bay. Our first hike with several rest stops in
chairs and log footrests to enjoy the view.
O Canada! What a treat
