We sailed past Newport and up the river to Barrington. Our friend Peter secured us a mooring so we can have a settled anchorage for the night. Our friend also lent us his car and we did the usual errands, buying boat parts, groceries and liquor. We received our packages and Gary was busy for a couple days repairing our wind generator and replacing our boom vang.
On the 3rd of July we enjoyed the fireworks from our yacht anchored in Bristol, it was a BLAST!! On July 4th, we went to town to watch the oldest Independence Day celebration in the USA. The parade was amazing, it was founded in 1785, it went on for hours and had bands from all over the USA participating. I really enjoyed the parade and was very moved, the crowd was very pleasant, the streets were lined with historic old homes and the parade performers were great.
