Panama - The Pearl Islands / Islas de las Perlas

For the last 6 months I have been working for Garden of Life, while Gary sailed Illimite to Panama.  I finished my work assignments in early March, packed my bags (mostly filled with vitamins) and invited two of my best friends from Boca Raton to join Gary and I in Panama to transit the canal.  If you haven’t stayed in touch with old friends, it's never too late, it was very easy to pick up where we left off and the health benefits of laughing like a teenager is PRICELESS.

While we were waiting for our canal transit date, we sailed to the Pearl Islands . Islas de las Perlas is a group of 200  islands lying about 30 miles off the Pacific coast of Panama in the Gulf of Panama. We visited the island of Chapera, where at least 3 of the survivor TV shows were filmed.   After exploring the wild island we decided to sail to an island that has resorts and luxury homes of wealthy Panamanians.   We met a local with a golf cart and had a small tour of the island of Contadora, followed by drinking and eating at a local beach restaurant.  Life is back to normal so to speak enjoying the ocean, sailing and great company.
