We love adventure, we love pushing the limits, why? Because we can. Our boat has a lifting centerboard and this cool feature enables us to safely maneuver in shallow water up to one meter. We wanted to tour Napa Valley so we decided to take SV Illimite up the river, which had many obstacles such as power cables, fixed bridges, railroad bridges, tide, and a shallow windy river. Gary did all the research before leaving; I even took him up the mast to measure our mast length and confirm our clearance under the fixed bridges. In addition to measuring, we knew it was going to be tight so we flew the drone before going under the bridge. We had a blast going up and down the river to Petaluma, a quaint little town with a lot of history.
Feeling larger than life after a wine tasting- Gary & I toting some wine to our sailboat. Photo dearly named "WineBags"
Heading to the Golden Gate Bridge
Bridge was completely fogged out when we went under
We celebrated entering the Bay Area with a boule of fresh sourdough bread
Our tracks up and down the River
Tight River- fixed bridges- a bit nerve wracking

Sneaking a bit of cherry tomatoes from French Laundry restaurant's garden, there were hundreds of tomatoes on the ground, I got the feeling it was just for "show"
