This island is for the birds, literally. St Lazaria island is home to over a half million breeding seabirds. The island was formed by a vertical upwelling of magma from an undersea vent. Gary deftly managed to sail us close to shore so I can try my best at capturing photos. The unchartered rocks, current, and waves made photography very challenging.
