Named in 1910 for Captain James Bettles of Valdez. This
is my favorite anchorage in Prince William Sound, mainly for the breathtaking
view of the snow top mountains that host the Bettles Glacier. When
the sun comes out in Alaska everything is grand and it is always a feast for
the eyes.
