Alaskan moose, who are the largest member of the deer family, are also the largest moose in the world. A well-fed bull can weigh upward of 1,600 pounds and have a hoof-to-shoulder height of seven feet! While moose are generally perceived to be less dangerous than bears, more people in Alaska are injured by moose than by bears each year. Moose will usually flee when threatened but under certain circumstances, they can become aggressive.

I can't believe how close you were to that moose and her baby. Apparently you aren't "threatening" - I would not want to be chased by an animal that fast! Looks like you guys are having an amazing time!
ReplyDeleteWe were securely hiding in our SUV on the road side!! The moose were in a ditch below us. : )
