USA- Alaska- Petersburg

Petersburg is a small town on the north end of Mitkof Island, surrounded by snowy mountains, and close to the renowned blue ice of Leconte Glacier.  The town is called Little Norway because during the turn of the 20th century it was founded by Norwegians.  To date many residents here can trace their heritage back to Norwegian ancestors.
