Papua New Guinea- Dunung

Dunung island was our last stop in Papua New Guinea.   It was a small island, it only took one hour to walk around, less than 50 people live here.

He is working on grinding shells which is ground down to round cylinders, strung and than used to make handcrafted jewelry.   This is the foundation of customary jewelry in this area.

At the beginning of this dive, I dropped in and 5 sharks circling at dinghy.  I deftly climbed back into dinghy.   Gary dove solo for this first 5 minutes than came back up to get me.

3 kids and a coconut coming to trade.   With so many coconuts I started making my own coconut cream - delish!
