You can go to this URL at any time to see where I am (location update hourly).   From this link you can change your view from topography, to Aerial, road, etc. This is fun thing to do to see the islands, atolls and deep water.  You can also send a message.   If you use your cell phone number you can easily reply in your text messenger, however you will need to remember to keep the message to 160 characters.  

When viewing my satellite location mapshare, you can click on the blue dots, or recorded waypoint to see statistics such as speed, course, latitude, longitude.  Notice the MESSAGE button, hint hint.. 

Sending a Message through the inReach MapShare

Visit the MapShare page.

1.      Select the inReach device to be messaged.

2.      Click Message.

3.      In the Send Message window enter your e-mail address or phone number and message.

4.      Click Send

I would love to get important news updates.  If you want to easily send me info, cut and paste text from article.  You will see where it cuts off at 160 characters.

Replying to an inReach E-mail Message

1.      Visit the link in the e-mail message received from the inReach device to view the inReach location and full text of the e-mail message.

2.      Type a reply to the inReach message in the Your reply: box.

3.      Click Send message. The message will now be delivered to the inReach.

If you use your cell phone number , you will be able to send and receive text messages on your phone.  After you  receive a text message back from me, save the telephone number for me.  Here is an example of what the response looks like.  The link will take you to the Mapshare program and will display where that message was sent from.
